50K! HUZZAH!

I wasn't expecting to get this much today, since I kind of slacked off this morning. I knew I was almost there, but the forums seemed much more interesting at the time. However, I decided that I wanted to finish up the fantasy crawl I mentioned on Saturday, and that got me more than enough words.

Now that I've hit 50K, I kind of want to take tomorrow off from writing and spend all day catching up on my reading instead . . . and then keep doing that the rest of the month. But, I'm only a scene or two away from the climax of the novel, and I really want to finish it this month or close to the beginning of December. So, I think I'm going to try to keep writing, though probably not at such a fast pace.

How's your NaNo Novel going? Are you almost done? Not there yet? Wherever you are, don't give up!

  1. Congrats on 50K! I'm not doing NaNo, as I'm sure you're aware, but I do have about 5K words on a short story which I hope to finish as soon as possible.

(Just reading the quotes in your sidebar—the third doesn't have quotation marks, while the first, second and fourth do.)

    1. Thank you! And good job!

Hmm. I hadn't noticed that. Thanks for pointing it out.

  2. Good job! It might be good to take a day break but if you are at the climax, how can bear to stop? Keep at it. I can't wait to read your book.

    1. *ALMOST* at the climax. There is a difference. Thus why I stopped after ten pages (a little over 1K words) and started reading Five Glass Slippers. :D And thanks!

    2. 1K words goes on for ten pages? My pages are about 900 words long—but then, I use size 9 text and a large screen. What writing application do you use?

    3. My writing application? Oh, it's a pretty old one, though it still works fine for me. It's called a pencil and notebook.

I'd love to hear your thoughts! But remember: it pays to be polite to dragons.
