Blogger Book Awards 2015 Finalists!

Art by the lovely Hannah Williams
Hello, everyone! The nominations are in, and after much deliberation, the finalists for the 2015 Blogger Book Awards have been chosen! Before I announce the top choices, however, I'd like to thank everyone who nominated a book or books- these awards couldn't happen without you.

And now, without further ado, the 2015 nominees for Best Book are:
The King's Scrolls by Jaye L. Knight
Pendragon's Heir by Suzannah Rowntree
Firefight by Brandon Sanderson

Don't forget to check out the nominees in the other categories as well:
Best Cover, hosted by Schuyler
Best Title, hosted by Hannah
Best Short Fiction, hosted by Ghost Ryter
Best Character, hosted by Annie
Best Author, hosted by Allison
The final awards will be posted in December, starting with Best Cover on the 19th and ending with Best Author on Christmas Eve.
Thanks for reading! And to all my fellow WriMos: may your pens (or fingers) be swift and may your wells of inspiration overflow.

  2. I don't envy you having to choose between those three... If you haven't read Ilyon Chronicles already, be sure to read the first book before The King's Scrolls! : )

    1. I have read Resistance, but it was a while ago- last December, I think. Or maybe January. So I'll probably need to reread it before I read TKS.

  3. Have you read Firefight? It wasn't very good at all! Rithmatist was a much better Sanderson book

    1. 1. Yes, I have read Firefight previously- but it was also one of only four books to be nominated multiple times for Best Book of the year, which is the larger reason it's on this list.
      2. I thought Firefight was very good, personally. I won't go into detail because I'm saving that for a later post, but still- even if it's not Sanderson's greatest book, I still loved it.
      3. I have also read The Rithmatist and quite enjoyed it, but I prefer the Reckoners series for various reasons. (However, that's mostly immaterial in the context of finalists, because Firefight was published this year; The Rithmatist, last I checked, was not. Or if it was, there's a time-traveling copy, because I read it the summer of 2014. xD)

I would be interested to hear why you dislike Firefight so. As I said, I thought it was an excellent book- not Sanderson's best, but hardly his worst either.

I'd love to hear your thoughts! But remember: it pays to be polite to dragons.
